There are so many ways to get creative with ham-and-cheese sandwiches, like this autumn-inspired combo! Flaky croissants, which take the place of bread, are layered with Kretschmar Off the Bone Ham and Baby Swiss Cheese, tart Granny Smith apples, and a herb-flecked honey mustard that you’ll want to put on everything. After a quick bake, the sandwiches become irresistibly golden and gooey.

4 Large Loaves
Croissants, Halved
4 Large Loaves
1 Large Apple
Granny Smith Apple, Cored and Thinly Sliced
1 Large Apple
1 Large Egg
Egg Whites, Beatles with One Tbsp. of Water
1 Large Egg
1 Tbsp.
Poppy Seeds
1 Tbsp.

Directions


  1. COMBINE mustard, shallot, honey and thyme in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

  2. PREHEAT oven to 375°F.

  3. LATHER cut side of croissants with thyme honey mustard mixture.

  4. LAYER ham, cheese and apple slices on bottom half of croissant.

  5. TOP sandwich with top half of croissant.

  6. BRUSH croissants with beaten egg white and sprinkle with poppy seeds.

  7. BAKE 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and tops of croissants are deep golden-brown.

  8. Serve!
